There Could Be Rubber In Your Nuggets

By: JML Law | February 28, 2019.
There Could Be Rubber In Your Nuggets

When you head to the store to get some food for yourself and the kids, we know the last thing you are probably thinking is that there will be rubber in your chicken nuggets. Unfortunately, that is the case with almost 37,000 pounds of the Tyson chicken nuggets.

The company has recalled the nuggets that were sold in several states, including California. While there have not been and adverse effects reported yet, the US Department of Agriculture says that they “may contain extraneous materials, specifically rubber.

This is just the latest of many chickens recalls that have already taken place this year (not all from Tyson). Just last week, Perdue had to recall 16,000 pounds of their dinosaur nuggets because they were improperly labeled.

What is going on in the nugget world

In all reality, these could pose major health risks to consumers. At JML Law, we are ready to help you if you have been harmed by a product you have used or consumed. When you need a Los Angeles product liability attorney, call us today so we can get the compensation you deserve.

What Can Happen

When we talk about faulty products, what is the first thing that comes to mind? Most likely, you think about cars catching fire. You may think of toys that are tainted with lead or exploding batteries.

These are certainly major product faults and they do occur. However, if you look at the government website that tracks current recalls, you will find that there are hundreds of recalls you likely had no idea about. They are present in every industry, from automotive and appliances to foods and medicines.

What we will find when we look through the recalls is that they are all faulty in similar ways. What do we mean by that?

  • They may have a faulty design that could lead to a consumer getting injured or becoming ill. Sometimes a poorly designed product makes it through testing and into the hands of consumers.
  • Products could encounter a manufacturing problem that alters them from their original design. This, too, can lead to the product posing a risk to consumers.
  • Labeling problems plague many products. This can mean the instructions or dosages are not correct or all of the ingredients are not listed. It could also mean that not all hazards and side effects are listed.
