Getting into a car has its risks. These risks involve more than just hitting another car, but also getting hit when you were not expecting it. When you are the one responsible for hitting another car you know exactly how you feel. You are upset with yourself and you know what happened even if it was accidental. However, when you get hit by someone and it was a surprise you get this sudden loss of control. Instead of losing trust in yourself, you lose trust in others. Losing trust in other drivers is so much worse because how do you start to regain trust in people who you don’t even know? It becomes all so cumbersome.
Another casualty of getting hit unexpectedly is the phone call your family members receive. This call is so scary because it is full of so many unknowns. What kind of accident? Who was involved? Where are they now? Where were they going? Where were they leaving? How did it happen? Was anyone else hurt? How hurt? The list of questions goes on and on. Unfortunately, not all questions can be answered immediately. Some questions take a long time to answer or just long enough to cause more worry. This must have been what the family members of a young man that was killed in a head-on collision.

Of those four, one person succumbed to their injuries and passed away. It is unknown if this was the driver of the car or a passenger in the other car. Was it distracted driving? Was it a medical condition? Police are still investigating.
